  • In today’s Silicon Valley, engineering talent is as sought after by companies as gold was by the first prospectors in the Wild West. Talent is a company’s most important asset, so we decided to use LinkedIn’s data insights to discover which startups are grabbing the attention of San Francisco Bay Area engineers.

In the Bay Area alone, there are more than 240,000 professionals on LinkedIn in engineering and related roles. They use LinkedIn to establish their professional profiles, build their networks and get the insights they need to be great at their jobs. They also use LinkedIn to learn more about companies of interest and their employees. This includes visiting profiles of employees looking for common connections, checking out LinkedIn Company Pages, and following companies using the LinkedIn Company Follow button to keep up to speed with relevant news and career opportunities.

  • Hundreds or thousands of talented professionals are visiting your company’s web pages every day, but how do you stay connected with these potential candidates over time? Today, LinkedIn is launching a powerful new way to stay in touch by inviting these professionals to follow your company on LinkedIn in just a single click.

The Company Follow Button is a plug-in you can add to any web page, including your company home page or career website. Visitors to your websites will be able to start following your company’s status updates with the literal click of a button.

Bersin & Associates recently released its first-ever benchmarking report on US corporate recruiting, and there is some good news for recruiting professionals – for example, corporate spending on talent acquisition is up, and companies are hiring more recruiters. That’s a very positive sign considering the layoffs and spending cuts we saw during the last few years.

  • Over the last few years, your employees have been establishing their presence on LinkedIn by building their profiles and connecting with other professionals. These employee profiles are the primary way outside professionals experience your company on LinkedIn.  Most great recruiting teams already leverage their employees through referral programs, but what if you could have a voice in the interactions already taking place between your employees and candidates.  Let me introduce you to LinkedIn’s new recruiting product, Work With Us.

Work With Us promotes your company’s jobs or recruiting message every time your employees’ profiles are viewed on LinkedIn, which can happen hundreds or thousands of times per day depending on your company. Your company will have exclusive access to the ad unit on every profile page, making it incredibly easy to gain a voice in these interactions at scale.

  • I’m very excited to announce that we have confirmed speakers from world-class companies including Novartis, Deloitte, ING, BP, RS Components, Epicor, SABMiller and Roche for Talent Connect London, LinkedIn’s corporate customer event taking place the 21st and 22nd of June at the Grand Connaught Rooms.

LinkedIn’s inaugural customer conference, which took place in San Francisco last November, was such a huge success that we knew we had to bring the event closer to our European customers. Not only will Talent Connect London feature content that is tailored specifically to a European audience, that content will be presented by some of the most progressive Talent Acquisition leaders from across the continent.
