13 Great LinkedIn Company Page Cover Photos to Inspire Yours

People are drawn to visuals, particularly on the web. In fact, I’d bet that at least some portion of you have already skipped this section and have begun looking at the photos embedded in this article (don’t fret, I’d do it too).

Using that logic, when building your LinkedIn Company Page, you want a great image for the cover photo. Ideally, it should be both visually stunning and somehow tie back to your employee value proposition, i.e. the reason someone should work for your company.

After all, most of the time that photo will be the first – and sometimes the only - thing a candidate will notice. So you need to make it count.

To help inspire you, we’ve compiled a list of companies that have chosen compelling LinkedIn Company Page cover photos.

1. Lego

First off, this photo is pretty funny and immediately catches your eye. And it’s distinctly Lego.

But beyond that, it conveys the message of “we get it, we’re a toy company, we don’t take ourselves too seriously and we like to have fun” - a.k.a. the kind of place people would like to work.

2. NASA

NASA’s biggest selling point is that if you work for them, you get to build really cool stuff. Like rockets that explore the outer reaches of our solar system and telescopes that can see to Andromeda.

What’s cool about this photo is people already know about all the space stuff. But NASA also builds other cool stuff, like the fascinating robot you see above. So, along with being a pretty cool photo, it provides prospects with yet another more reason to want work there.

3. The Hershey Company

What’s good about this photo is that it makes Hershey more than just a company that sells candy. It makes it a company that sells memories, as shown in the photos within the collage.

By linking a positive emotion to your company, you compel people to want to work for you apply to jobs. Because now, the job isn’t just about selling a product or advancing their career - its about what your product means to the people who buy it.

4. New York Yankees

With 27 championships, the New York Yankees are the most successful team in Major League Baseball’s history. They have a reputation for doing everything first class and that reputation carries over to their LinkedIn Company Page, where they have a beautiful photo to highlight their brand.

As you can see from the photo, the sun is going down in New York City, meaning another night at Yankee Stadium. And that conjures a thousand memories for anyone who loves baseball, which is the exact type of person the Yankees want to hire.

5. Manchester United

Not to be outdone, the Manchester United Football Club, one of the world’s most popular soccer teams, has an equally historic and goose bump-invoking photo for their LinkedIn Company Page.

The photo is of a statue of Manchester United’s famed “Holy Trinity," which includes Sir Bobby Charlton, George Best and Denis Law - they led the team to its first European Cup in 1968. This image appeals to prospects who want to be a part of Manchester United’s rich history.

6. Citi

By using this image, Citi directly takes on a dark moment in its history. As many of you know, in 2009, Citi was one of several financial companies to receive a stimulus from the United States government, after the financial crash of 2008.

Rather than pretend it didn’t happen, Citi turns it into a positive event with this image. As the tagline states, it is using the lessons it learned in the past to build a great future, which is a bold and captivating approach for the company to take.

Okay, there are a lot of companies that have photos of their office for their LinkedIn Company Page cover photo. Visa's was one of the best – a beautiful, open office overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge.

Nike’s brand message is that everyone is an athlete - that everyone should push themselves. And this photo is the perfect encapsulation of that message, inspiring high-motor, intense people to want to work there. Those are the exact type of people Nike is looking for.

9. ExxonMobil

Rather than tell prospects that they will do challenging and important work, ExxonMobil shows one of their employees doing exactly that. And that’s going to inspire smart, hardworking people who are seeking a challenge to apply for a job.

Last, but certainly not least. TOMS, for those who don’t know, is a company that sells clothes, apparel and coffee. It is most famous for it’s “one for one” program, where for everything it sells, it gives something else to someone in need.
