Every year, Talent Connect offers attendees a jam-packed agenda filled with sessions led by recruiting game-changers and talent acquisition innovators, as well as leaders and visionaries from across the fields of business, philanthropy, and more. Continuing in this tradition of stellar speakers, we’re excited to announce Rosie Batty, recently named 2015’s Australian of the Year, as our inspirational keynote speaker at Talent Connect Sydney 2015. The conference will take place on 5th May, 2015 at the Hilton.
Meet your keynote speakers
Rosie is a leader in the crusade against domestic violence and has turned her personal tragedy into a fight to help others. Only hours after her son's life was tragically taken, Rosie gave voice to many thousands of victims of domestic violence who had, until then, remained unheard. Her public speaking appearances are a remarkable story of resilience, courage, inspiration and making a difference. Rosie's incredible strength and selfless efforts are an inspiration to many people. She is also the Pride of Australia's National Courage Medal recipient.
In addition to Rosie, our local customer keynote will be Glenn Keys, Executive Director of Aspen Medical and 2015 finalist for Australian of the Year. His talk will focus on corporate social responsibility, the importance of talent, and how Aspen supplied workers within hours of securing their contract from the Australian government to staff an Ebola clinic in Sierra Leone in November 2014.
Beyond the main stage, we will offer break-out sessions organised around our conference themes of connect, inspire, and transform. Topics will reflect concepts and challenges that are top of mind for talent acquisition leaders and their teams, as identified through our annual content survey. Some highlights include:
How employee value proposition (EVP) drives alignment with consumer and talent brand
Medibanks Gemma Allen and Mike Boyd from Medibank will join Wendy Hammonds from Spark New Zealand to discuss the role EVP plays in successful brand strategies. Gemma and Mike will also talk about merging two brands into one at Medibank, while Wendy will discuss Spark's journey in transforming from the legacy Telecom New Zealand brand into Spark NZ.
Get proactive: driving change in your talent organisation
Christine Connor of Coles and Sharon Tan of SingTel will join forces in this session to share how they are each effecting change within their talent organisations. Coles is in the midst of a three year journey of transformation, with the end goal of shifting recruitment from a reactive to more proactive model. SingTel is building a centralised operating structure, including a more efficient and reliant in-house recruitment team and a renewed focused on talent brand.
Your next hire is right in front of you: leveraging internal mobility and talent networks
In this fireside chat session with Rebecca Houghton of Australia Post and Finuala Hattori of SAP, hear how SAP structures its internal mobility programmes for different markets across APAC, and how Australia Post is preparing legacy employees for new roles within the company and beyond.
