Photos: Best Moments of Talent Connect London 2014
And, it’s a wrap!
The fourth year of Talent Connect London has come to an end, and what an experience it has been. Over 1,500 attendees filled the ExCel London to learn from some truly innovative speakers and to share their own stories with one another. We have networked with industry peers, been inspired and entertained by keynotes, been informed by engaging breakout sessions, and we celebrated in style at the after party. They say all good things must come to an end, but although Talent Connect is finished for another year, we’ve certainly made some great memories!
Check out the photos below for just a few of the memorable moments at Talent Connect London 2014.
London’s Calling
If you attended Talent Connect 2013, you’ll know that we like to surprise our guests with a unique space in the InLounge where they can mingle, relax, speak to LinkedIn specialists about everything from their own profile to the latest features in our Talent Solutions products. This year, the inLounge was themed to reflect our host city. Featuring a London bus, taxi cabs, an indoor park to relax, and even an arcade, the InLounge was buzzing from morning to night.
The Opening Ceremony
The opening day of Talent Connect started with a bang. Literally. After an energising drum performance ensured that everyone was wide awake and ready to go, Wade Burgess and Ariel Eckstein took to the main stage to reveal LinkedIn’s latest innovations to the crowd, as well as what to expect in 2015.
Anyone up for a pint?
It wouldn’t be London without a traditional English pub to unwind in after an action packed day. The Talent Connect pub was the centerpoint of the inLounge, ideal for networking and catching up with industry peers.
Quality hires, this way
On Wednesday afternoon Lou Adler, CEO of the Adler Group, presented his approach to measuring quality of hire, in order to make sure you’re hiring the very best. Lou also reminded the audience of the huge responsibility that recruiters have to their candidates, because of the life-changing nature of career moves.
Time for some retail therapy!
One of the main attractions of the InLounge this year was the LinkedIn High Street, where attendees could pop in and out of the many themed “shops”. There was the “Talent Brand Boutique” where customers could learn how to build their talent brand, the “House of Data” where LinkedIn representatives revealed key industry trends to inform your 2015 strategy, and the ever popular “Rock My Profile” booth where attendees worked with specialists to strengthen their LinkedIn profiles.
Raise your hand if you’re for diversity
On Wednesday afternoon, Alexa Glick from Microsoft, Liz Mackay from Philips and LinkedIn’s Pat Wadors addressed the hot topic of diversity hiring in a hugely popular session that had people talking long afterwards.
Glen Cathey on Boolean search
During this breakout session, Glen Cathey discussed the concepts and best practices of Boolean search. Attendees left the session armed with invaluable information to ensure that they can find the best talent easily.
Let’s get digital
The closing keynote on Wednesday was delivered by Dave Hazlehurst who entertained and engaged the crowd with his session on how to build your brand and truly connect with your target audience in the digital age.
“Behind every successful man is a surprised mother-in-law”
Closing out TCL 2014 was Baroness Karren Brady, who shared her story of disrupting the male-dominated world of football at the age of 23, as managing director of a struggling club. The story of her journey gave an insight into the “West Ham way” - the unique culture she has fostered in her football club to truly unite her employees as one team.
Kicking back and raising the roof at the evening events
The InLounge was the place to be each evening, with a welcome reception on Day One and conference after-party on Day Two. Attendees let their hair down and put their hands in the air to the sounds of our resident DJ, accompanied by some incredible live musicians.
